January Prayer Points

24th-30th January

  • Senior Camp Girls Bible Study: The girls are joining together tonight (25th Jan.) to look at the 4th study in the series Saints and Scroundrels using material produced by Nancy Guthrie. Pray for the girls as they meet together via Zoom that they will be encouraged in their walks with God. Pray also for the committee that oversees all of the camps. They are having their meeting this evening also. Pray for wisdom and guidance as they plan and discuss and look at the possibilities for camps during the summer.
  • Galway RPC – Pray for those within the fellowship from different countries who are away from their families back home and are finding it hard as they are not even able to meet as a church family currently. Praise God for a new family from India who have been worshipping with the congregation since the summer and are getting involved in church life.
  • TFY: Pray for the plans being made for a study day focusing on Biblical Baptism being lead by David McKay. This study day is open to people of all ages and is a opportunity to delve deeper into what the Bible says about Baptism. Pray that this day will be a help to all who attend.
  • GIVE THANKS that, despite Covid 19, members of Ballyclabber RPC are able to continue to meet
    together each Lord’s Day for public worship. PRAY that as these services are also live-streamed all
    who watch and listen will be encouraged and challenged.
  • PRAY that the elders in Limavady would benefit from being able to study the Elders’ Manual
    together.
  • Milford RPC – A long term decision still needs to be made about what to do with our existing building. Given that we have worshipped there since 1837 there are strong attachments. Give thanks for the attitude of the congregation as we have met in a variety of locations since we moved out. The congregation have been very supportive of the different locations we have used. Pray that as we consider the options for our existing building, God would continue to preserve the peace and unity of the congregation.
  • Convoy RPC – Presently our worship services take place online each Lord’s Day by Zoom.  At the moment I’m preaching on various psalms.  Please pray that the Holy Spirit will quicken the ministry of God’s Word to the hearts and lives of all who worship with us so that sinners will be converted and believers built up in their faith.
  • Nantes, France RPC – Work on the dossier for building permission is on-going. We would ask for prayer for one potential problem relating to how far forward in our property the building would be allowed to come. It would help us greatly if we weren’t obliged to align the new build with our existing home. Pray that permission for this would be granted.
  • Spain RPC – Pray for Isaac, his family, and the RP mission work in Spain!

 

17th-23rd January

  • Milford RPC – The congregation has a really exciting opportunity to lease a commercial unit – this would be our own space to use for services and other events. Give thanks for the enthusiasm of the congregation so far and the good relationship some members already have with the developer. Pray that God would oversee the practical aspects of this, that he would excite all our members about the possibility, and that we would be able to move in in early 2021.
  • Nantes, France RPC – Please join with Robin and Claudia Holmes in praying for their neighbours to whom they have been ministering a great deal in recent weeks. They have been following some of our services on YouTube and have said how helpful they have found them.

 

10th-16th January

  • Lisburn RPC – Give thanks for the provision of a new pastor for the congregation. Pray for the service this evening as Robert McCollum as is Installed. Pray for Robert and Emma and their 3 boys that they would settle quickly into their new home, church, schools and community. Pray for help as they navigate this since it won’t be easy with Covid restrictions.
  • Cloughmills RPC – Pray for our health care workers, politicians, key workers, the vulnerable, the isolated, the sick, the struggling and society as a whole.
  • PRAY for the Faughan congregation as they seek to reach out into the community with Christian
    literature and that God would be pleased to bless this effort by saving some and bringing them
    into our worship services. Continue to remember Matthew Magee and his Short Term Service with
    Shaftesbury Square congregation, that he and the Shaftesbury congregation may see the fruit of
    his labours.
  • Woodstock RPC –  GIVE THANKS for the Lord’s preservation of our church family through the ongoing pandemic, and GIVE THANKS for the addition of several new members. PRAY for new families and individuals to join with us.
  • Gateway RPC – We continue to meet mid-week via Zoom. PRAY for a series of studies on foundations of grace in the Old Testament, with the help of Ligonier ministries. PRAY that this would be a humbling, but also God-glorifying revelation for those who have not come across the doctrines of grace much before, and that it would cause us all to serve God with more love and devotion.
  • PRAY for wisdom for the Irish Section [of the RPCI Synod’s Mission Committee] as we consider future direction for the work in Ireland.
  • Letterkenny RPC – We will need a new venue when we resume meeting physically for services. Pray that God would provide one that is suitable.
  • Nantes, France RPC – Pray for contact we have with our Muslim friends from Pakistan. They gratefully accepted a gospel calendar and we noticed that last Lord’s Day, the father tuned in to our church service on Facebook. Sadly the family will head back to Pakistan after 5 years in France. Please pray for their salvation and that what they saw of Christ while in France will stay with them and bring them to seek and find new life in him.

 

3rd-9th January

  • Rev Philip Dunwoody has accepted a call to be the Pastor at Dromore Reformed Presbyterian church. Pray for Phil, Hannah and baby Sophia as they prepare for the move, and also for God’s sustaining grace to be upon the members and friends of Dervock Reformed Presbyterian Church who will enter a period of vacancy later this month.
  • Cookstown RPC – Pray for the abolition of abortion in Northern Ireland. Pray for a radical transformation of hearts by the gospel across this island so that abortion is seen as the wicked genocide it really is, rather than a ‘reproductive right’.
  • PRAY that Ballyclare monthly Missionary Meetings on Zoom will be a blessing both to the
    congregation and to the missionaries taking part.
  • Shaftesbury RP – PRAY for wisdom and blessing as the congregation seeks contacts with internationals both online and in person.
  • Letterkenny RPC – Pray for Mark as he teaches a couple of RE classes in Raphoe Royal school. It is harder to have interaction since the pupils are wearing masks – but it also seems to settle them down, and they are listening well. Pray that God will use these lessons to plant seeds in their lives.
  • Nantes, France RPC – Pray for the gospel calendars that have been and will be distributed over the Christmas and New Year period. This is a simple way of sowing the seed of God’s Word in people’s hearts. Pray that the seed will take root and bring forth fruit.
